The JV Hawks suffered their first loss of the season, falling to the JV Eagles of Edison HS, 69-63. After taking an early lead, the Hawks fell behind by as much as 15 points during the second quarter, only to rally and close the deficit to 7 points at the half. In the second half, the Hawks again rallied, closing to within 2 points by the close of the third quarter. The Eagles responded by scoring 20 pts in the fourth quarter, and held onto the 6 point win. The Hawks were led by freshman captain Dalon Thomas (16 pts, 10-12 from the line), junior forward Quentin Hutchinson (8 pts, 3 rebs), and freshman center Montez Wilson (8 pts, 9 rebs, 3 blocks). Other key contributions came from junior forward Tyler Stanley (6 pts, 2-5 from 3pt range), Muharrim Haque (4 pts, 3 stls, 2 blocks), and Nicholas Grant (7 pts, 3 rebs). The JV Hawks return to the road, for a National District meeting with Falls Church HS on Thursday, January 12th, before returning home for a 4 game stretch.
