Dear Hawk Nation,
My name is Said Aziz, and I am excited to be your new head football coach! I am a local guy, growing up in the Alexandria and Springfield area. I have followed Hayfield football for as long as I can remember, and it’s easy to say that becoming the football coach at Hayfield has been a dream of mine. I am a 1998 graduate of John R. Lewis High School, played Junior College football at Potomac State College in West Virginia, and played Division III football at Shenandoah University where I earned my bachelor’s degree. I also have a master’s degree from American College of Education. Playing football had such a profound impact on my life, that I decided to become a teacher and coach because I knew I could connect and motivate all students. I have been a teacher for eighteen years, and I have been an assistant coach at James Wood High School, John R. Lewis High School, and Stafford High School. Since 2010, I have been the head football coach at Falls Church High School where we won the district three times since 2013, been to the playoffs eight years in a row, and have posted a winning record every season since 2013. Our program philosophy is providing an inclusive, family friendly, and positive environment that will allow us to develop life skills and values through football. I strongly believe that football is about building relationships and preparing our students for life after high school and being productive members of society.
In the upcoming weeks, I am looking forward to meeting more people in our community, Hayfield staff, families, and students.
